What are greeting cards?

Greeting cards are folded pieces of cardboard given to people as gifts.

Most commercially-produced greeting cards have a comical illustration or photograph on the cover. They will usually have some writing, which is continued inside.

However, some cards, known as blank cards, will have no writing inside. Regardless of whether there is writing in the card, the person giving the card will usually add some other writing that includes the greeting to the specific person.

Commercially-produced cards will usually also have manufacturer details at the back of the card. Missouri-based Hallmark Cards is the largest gift card manufacturer in the United States, producing around 1 in 2 gift cards in the country.

Greeting cards may also be produced by hand or using desktop publishing software. In the card-making craft, cards are produced usually various crafts products.

What are birthday cards?

Birthday cards are often given in addition to people on their birthday in addition to other gifts. It may contain birthday wishes and a birthday theme.

The theme of the birthday card will often be influenced by the age of the person having the birthday. Children's birthday cards will typically be bright and colorful, with the age printed on the card's cover. Birthday cards for teenagers and adults will usually be humorous and will not include a reference to the age of the person having the birthday.

What are holiday cards?

Holidays cards are exchanged at major holidays, such as at Christmas. They may be given with other presents, or given independently. Holiday cards almost always have some relevance to the holiday.

For some, Christmas cards provide an opportunity to communicate annually by mail to friends and family relatives. Christmas cards may be sold in packages for this reason.

What are get well cards?

"Get well cards" may be given to people who are ill or suffering from an injury. They are supposed to show thought and consideration for the person who is ill and therefore make the person who is ill feel happier.
