Deep Fryers

Deep fryers, or deep fat fryers, are products used to deep fry foods. Many fast food businesses use deep fryers, including fish and chip shops. They may also be purchased for consumer use in the home.

The deep fryer has a basin of oil. Food is placed in a metal basket then placed in the oil to cook. Food is usually cooked at between 140-200 C or 280-400 F.

Hot oil is a considerable safety risk. Oil may begin to spit if the device becomes too hot, although most products have safety measures to prevent a serious safety risk. However, deep fryers also increase the risk of a fire.
