The ICD10 is published in 3 volumes of over 2000 pages.
Volume One - The Tabular List contains the classification at the three- and four-character levels, the classification of the morphology of neoplasms, special tabulation lists for mortality and morbidity, definitions, and the nomenclature regulations.
It also contains the report of the International Conference for the Tenth Revision, which indicates the many complex considerations behind the revisions.
Volume Two - Instruction Manual further develops notes on certification and classification formerly included in Volume 1, and has background information, instructions, and guidelines for users of the tabular list (Volume One). Historical information is included about the ICD dating back to 1893.
Volume Three - Alphabetical Index is the detailed alphabetical index. There is advice on how to make the best use of the index. Numerous diagnostic terms and synonyms are detailed for ease of coding.
