Musculoskeletal Disorders

Musculoskeletal disorders are injuries of the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, joints, cartilage, or spinal discs. Musculoskeletal disorders may result from an instantaneous or acute event (such as a slip, trip, or fall) or reflect a more gradual or chronic development.

Musculoskeletal disorders include conditions such as arthritis (diseases affecting joints), myalgia (disease affecting muscles), and conditions affecting the soft tissues that connect muscle and bone (cartilage, ligaments, and tendons).
