Overview

Elderly individuals are more susceptible to certain conditions and disorders that would normally not affect younger people. Although some conditions have a much higher incidence among the elderly, most are not unique to this population. Osteoporosis, for example, is a common finding among elderly women, but it can also occur in younger men or women who are malnourished.
