The Warcraft III map editor is a very powerful program that comes pre-packaged with Warcraft III. It allows the user to create fully 3-dimensional maps, complete with textures, map doodads, and cinematic effects.
A large library of triggers, conditions and actions allows the user to create events as unique as the map they are making. These triggers are very flexible, and customizable.
Different levels of terrain can be made, as well as pathable water.
Units, items and buildings can be customized, as well as in-game sounds.
Using triggers, the player of the map can execute certain triggers using chat messages - if the creator has set up triggers for this.
