Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II is a game for the Nintendo Gamecube, and X-Box. It consists of weapons to collect, as well as a mag to follow you and grow on your quest. There are four different levels, each with their own different environments. Each level consists of two or three different parts to it.

The first episode consists of a massive planet-wide search. The first Episode consists of searching for the famous Red Ring Rico. The planet Coral is faced with a massive disaster, and decide to seek out a new place in which to live. They find the planet Ragol, and decide to construct two large ships, Pioneer 1 and 2, to hold the colonists. Pioneer 1 left a few years before Pioneer 2. When Pioneer 2 arrived, it made contact with Pioneer 1, settled on the planet. Pioneer 2 sent a communication signal to the surface, and soon after, a large explosion rocked the settlement below. Now, the heroes of the Hunters Guild have been asked to go to Ragol's surface and investigate the problem. What they would find would go beyond imagination...

The Forest is the first set of levels on Phantasy Star Episode I. It consists of two levels, Forest 1 and Forest 2.
The Boss of this level is a fire dragon, which can only be killed with ease at about level seven for the player's character.
Some of the monsters one can find in the forest include : Booma, Rag Rappy, Hildebear, Al Rappy, Gigobooma, Gobooma, Mothmant, Savage Wolf, Barbarious Wolf, Hildeblue and The Dragon.

This is the second set of levels on Phantasy Star Online Episode I. It consists of three levels : Cave 1, Cave 2 and Cave 3.
The Boss of this level, after completing cave one, two and three is De Rol Le, which should be only attempted if the player's character is level eighteen or above.
Some of the monsters one can find in the caves include : Evil Shark, Pal Shark, Guil Shark, Poison Lily, Nar Lily, Grass Assasin, Nano Dragon, Pofuilly Slime, Pouilly Slime, Pan Arms, Migium, Hidoom and De Rol Le.

The Mines is the third set of levels on Phantasy Star Online Episode I. It consists of two levels : Mines 1 and Mines 2.
The Boss of the mines is called Vol Opt, which should only be attempted if the player is about level twenty seven.
Some monsters one can find in the Mines include : Gillchic, Dubchic, Canadine, Canane, Sinow Beat, Sinow Gold, Garanz and Vol Opt.

The Ruins are the fourth set of the levels on Phantasy Star Online Episode I. It consists of three levels : Ruins 1, Ruins 2 and Ruins 3.
The Boss of the Ruins is called Dark Falz which should only be attempted if the player is level thirty three or above, lower if the character has assistance.
Some of the monster that one can find in the Ruins include : Dimenian, La Dimenian, So Dimenian, Delsaber, Claw, Bulclaw, Dark Belra, Dark Gunner, Chaos Sorcerer, Chaos Bringer and Dark Falz.

There are five dificulty levels for a player to achieve : Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Ultimate. As the player completes the easy dificulty, harder game play modes become available. Ultimate is the last and hardest difficulty level and also has new things added to Phantasy Star Online Episode I. Pioneer 2 has different colour schemes in Ultimate Mode. Also, as the player gets to harder difficulty levels, new and better weapons would be unlocked in the shops for one to buy.
