This was Sonic's debut title. It had sold over 4 Million copies throughout Japan and the US.


The original story was simple and clean; Sonic's animal friends were trapped by Robotnik and he had to save his friends by defeating Robotnik.

Charge dash was not available in this game, though instant-spin dash was there.
