Barbarian Village is a popular area in runescape, especially on free to play servers. The area serves primaily as a training area for low level players.

Location

Barbarian Village is located at the west of Misthalin's settlements. It is directly south of Edgeville and direct west of Varrock City. It is in the free to play servers and is often travelled through by players making their way from Varrock to Falador.

Shops and Services

Barbarian Village contains only one shop that specialises in selling helmets and provides services for 3 seperate skills.

At the east side of the village, players are able to fish at the river where they can catch pike via bait and salmon or trout via luring or fly fishing.

At the center of the village is the entrance to the stronghold of security and it is surrounded by some rocks that players are able to mine. In total there are 5 tin ores and 4 coal ores available.

In addition to these services, players are also able to train their crafting skill by using the Potters Wheel and Potters Oven to the south of the mining rocks or by using the Spinning Wheel to the north of the mining rocks.

Non Player Characters

Gunthor the Brave
Gunthor is the chieftain of the Barbarian Village and can be found in the Long Hall.

Hunding
Hunding observes all visitors to the Barbarian Village from the tower outside. He is also the village historian and for people who show proper respect will enlighten them. Hunding is located at the east side of the village on the balcony of the tower.

Barbarians
All barbarians are trained how to fight and will help defend their own kind against any attackers. Novice players should note that the Barbarian Village is a multi combat zone and should be prepared to fight more than one at a time.

The barbarians' combat levels are 9,10,15 and 17. Male and female barbarians of different levels will assist others when attacked, but are non-agressive normally.

Unicorn
Unicorns roam to the north of the village. They are level 15 combat and non-agressive. Unicorns will drop a unicorn horn that is used as a secondary ingredient for normal anti-poison potions, super anti-poison potions and as part of the Sanfrew Serum in the herblore skill for members.
