Animal, Mineral or Vegetable is a game where one player picks any object and other players must try to guess what it is by asking yes or no questions.
The aim is to ask the least number of questions before guessing what it is.
- In a two-player game players take turns to be the picker and the person who asks the least number of questions (including incorrect guesses) before correctly guessing wins.
- In a game of three or more players, the first player to guess what the object is will be the winner and the next person to get to pick an object.

Players begin by asking one or two of these questions:
- Is it an animal?
This question is asking whether the thing is an animal or human or primarily made up of an animal or human.
- Is it a mineral?
This question is asking whether the thing is an mineral or primarily made up of a mineral. In this case, it means anything that is not alive and is not primarily made up of something that was once alive (unless the product is the result of the breaking down of the living thing).
- Is it a vegetable?
This question is asking whether the thing is a plant or primarily made up of a plant or a part of a plant.
All objects are either animal, mineral or vegetable. Therefore, if two of three questions above were are answered with "no", the other question would be have to be answered with "yes" and therefore does not need to be asked.
