Top: Games: Party Games: Blind Man's Buff

General Information

Blind Man's Buff is a game requiring a blindfold. It involves six or more players of any age.

  • One person is blindfolded and spun around three times to make them feel dizzy. Other players are scattere around the room or seated on the ground in a circle.
  • The blindfolded person must touch other players and guess who they are. The players are not allowed to change position, although they can twist and bend to avoid being touched.
  • If the guess is successful, the touched person becomes the blind person. If not, the game continues.

Variations

These two variations use the same basic rules and principles.

  • Blind Man's Staff - In this version the blind man pokes a stick at one of the other players, who are all circling the blind man. The blind man will ask "Who's There"; the player who has been poked will reply "It's Me"; the blind man will need to make his or her guess based on the boice.

  • Seated Blind Man's Buff - This is an adult version of the game in which the blind man is seated on the lap of one of the other players, who are all sitting on chairs in a circle. The blind man must identify the lap without touching any other part of the body. Sounds made by the person they are sitting on, such as laughing, are likely to offer clues.
