General Information

Water Statues is a variation of the Statues game played in a swimming pool. It is suitable for players of any age who are confident in water. It requires at least four people.

  • One of the players is chosen as the judge and situates him or herself at the end of the pool.
  • Other players are situated at the other end of the pool. The judge must say "Go!" to start off the game. With the judge's back turned, players must race through the water to tag the judge.
  • However, at random points in time the judge may choose to turn around. The last person to freeze (become totally still) when the judge turns around must leave the game and help the judge for the rest of the game.
  • The last person in the game or the first person to tag the judge is the winner of the game and becomes the judge.
