General Information

  • Players - Players play Cranium in teams of at least two people. The game can support two through to four teams.
  • Ages - Cranium is recommended to be played by teenagers and adults.
  • Purpose - The object of the game is to be the first team to move clockwise around the board and into Cranium Central. Once in this area, the team will be able to attempt a final activity in order to win the game.

Activities

As the teams move their game pieces around the board, they will land on colored spaces. There are five colors, each one demanding a different type of activity. In most cases, one member of the team does the activity, whilst the other member(s) try to work out what the activity wants them to.

  • Red Spaces: if a team lands on a red space, they must pick a Data Head card which will test them on uncommon knowledge.
  • Green Spaces: if a team lands on a green space, they must pick a Star Performer card which could get them to act, hum, whistle, or impersonate celebrities.
  • Blue Spaces: if a team lands on a blue space, they must pick a Creative Cat card which will get them to sketch, or make models with clay.
  • Yellow Spaces: if a team lands on a yellow space, they must pick a Word Worm card which normally presents word puzzles.
  • Purple Spaces: the team can choose any type of card to pick up.
The team must complete the activity before they can move their game piece further around the board.
