Introduction:

A keylogger is either software or a device that stealthfully records the input of a keyboard as the keys are pressed on a PC. It enables the acquisition of private information such as passwords, credit card numbers and other information. A keylogger can be used in an enterprise to record employee actions, in a home setting as a part of parental control/monitoring software or as a part of a malicious softare infection (Virus, malware, or Spyware). The legality when using this type of software should be considered based on the local laws of where one lives.
