What are Based On sections?

Based On sections allow for the citing of information sources in a category. They should be used whenever information is taken from a third-party source and used in an Encyclopedia set up with this code. Citing a source takes no more than typing in the title of the source, and a link if it is a web-site.

How are Based On entries created and edited?

To create a based on entry, click on the 'Edit Based On Section' link from the edit category page. This will take you to a page similar to the relcat edit page. Type the source of the information into the box. If you wish to specify an URL, ensure that it begins with http:// or it will not be interpreted as a link by the scripts. Once you have entered all the information you want to enter, click the Submit button.

To edit the contents of this section, go to the based on edit page, and edit the entry you need changed. Once all changes are complete, press the Submit button, and the entries will be changed.
