History

C began development by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritche as a language for programming in during the 1970s, for System V and, later, the various Unices (the kernel of Linux, based on Unix, is purely written in C), and was based on a language called B.


What It Can Do

A general-purpose programing language closely associated with the UNIX operating system and generally used by programmers when efficiency is a necessity. Otherwise, C++ is used.
