URL (Uniform Resource Locator)

The unique address of any Web document.
Anatomy of a URL:
- type of file (http:// or ftp://)
- domain name
- path or directory on the computer to this file
- name of file, and its file extension (usually ending in .html or .htm

Usenet Newsgroups

A system of thousands of special interest groups to which readers can send or "post" messages; these messages are then distributed to other computers on the network. Usenet registers newsgroups, which are available through Internet Service Providers.
