ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)

Technology to transform your existing phone line into a high-speed digital link to the Internet. ADSL is asymmetric in that it uses most of the channel to download data from the Internet and the rest of it to send out your own data. ADSL is generally offered at speed rates ranging from 512 Kbps to 1500 Kbps.

ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Agency NETwork)

Computer network originally developed for military purposes, by the US Department of Defense, as an experiment in wide-area-networking. The ARPANET went into service in 1969 when it connected four universities and research laboratories. The project was decommissioned in June 1990.
