[ history ]

Lynx is a text-only browser that has been developed over a large period of time, but is still more aimed at technically competent users.

It aims to be a very fast, capable browser, rendering HTML of all types, regardless of its function, and is ideal for testing website content to see if it would function correctly on a non-visual browser (i.e. speech browser), as well as allowing fast, non-graphical navigation of the broad content of the Internet.

Lynx is considered a "console" application - the different versions run as if in a text console (for Windows, this would be the ubiquitous "DOS-Box")

The current version can always be found at the Lynx homepage, lynx.browser.org.
