History

Google comes with the name "googol" referring to the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros.

Google was formed by two computer science students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, from Stanford University. They met each other when they graduated and developed a whole new system. They took the challenge of creating a whole new approach to search engines.

The heart of Google's system is Page Rank (PR) which conveys a value between 1-10 of a site by tallying its number of "links" it has received.

Google plex (The Google Office) based in Mountain View, California has over 10,000 hardware equipment and over 1,000 employs which includes 60+ PhD staff. Although the majority of Google's operations are based in Mountain View, they also have 21 offices around the world.

Google has a indexed database of over three billion documents. It is used by over 30 million people world wide each day and it continues to lead the search engine world.
