The following are some disadvantages of recruiting externally:

  • Hundreds of applications may be received. In this case, shortlisting will be time consuming.
  • Money will have to paid in order to advertise the job.
  • Recruiting externally is a risk. This is because in most cases, a business will not particularly know the candidates.
