This popular New Zealand soap was given the production title Shortland Street after the Auckland street of that name, and it stuck. So did the soap, earning popularity in New Zealand and abroad with hard-hitting climaxes that dealt with death and relationships among the employees and patients of the fictitious Shortland Street Medical Centre.
Shortland Street is now in it's 14th year of production.
