Synopsis

Flipside was a New Zealand youth series presented by The Edge's Mike Puru. This interactive youth program allowed viewers to express opinions by internet or mobile phone. It was removed at the end of it's 2004 season due to poor ratings.

The first two seasons of this program received almost six hundred thousand New Zealand dollars of Television New Zealand Charter funding from the government. Although it did meet the charter objectives, some media critics criticized government sponsorship of a news program and and questioned the ability of the program to provide balanced news coverage.
