Friends actor David Schwimmer takes on the role of a seriously and perhaps humorously incompetent Easy Company leader, although in little over an hour he is gone and most of the humor is gone with him. Band of Brothers turns into a story of warfare and tragedy, presented with more swear words than is realistic, pleasant or required.
Director Steven Spielberg does, however, convey and amazing true story in a way that can only be commended. Between each episode small comments from the real people themselves gives us a direct account, including emotion and perspective, that compliments the dramatic recount.
While Part One follows the eagerness of soldiers to being fighting, tragedy and heavy fatality is almost inevitable in Part Two as they fly towards the war zone. Events don’t turn out as planned but the battle continues.
