Description

The Music Man opened on December 19, 1957 and ran for 1375 performances. The show won eight Tony awards including Best Musical.

The musical is about a travelling salesman named Harold Hill who goes around the country selling equipment and lessons for boys bands. However, once he gets his money he skips town leaving the city with equipment for a no-talent band. However, when he reaches River City, Iowa, he is taught a few lessons with piano instructor Marian Paroo.
