Description

A controversial First Lady of Argentina is the center of Evita. Eva escaped to Buenos Aires as a fifteen-year-old and became First Lady of Argentina when she became twenty-seven. She was supportive of the working class, didn't like the aristocracy, and was mistrusted by the military.

Evita was first performed in London in 1978. It came to Broadway the following year in 1979 and ran for 1,567 performances.
