Description

Beauty and the Beast was adapted from the Walt Disney Pictures animated film of the same name. The musical with music and lyrics by Tim Rice, Alan Menken, and Howard Ashman came to Broadway on April 18, 1994 at the Palace Theatre after nearly fifty previews beforehand. Beauty opened to critical and audience praise and won numerous Tony awards.
