Bruce Lee's first big break, after starring in Honk Kong films as a child, was his big role in the television series, "The Green Hornet." The show flopped and was canceled after one season in the United States, but many in Hong Kong would long remember him as "Kato." After "The Green Hornet" ended, Bruce's only memorable role in Hollywood was in James Garner's film "Marlow," in which Lee played the Asian protagonist. After determining for himself that there was no future for him in Hollywood, he returned to Hong Kong to continue his acting career. His first movie there, "The Big Boss," known to United States fans as "Fists of Fury," was a hit in 1971. A man small in stature and not of witty speech, he played the champion of the underdog in his movies, a role that suited him well in reality. Unfortunately, in 1973, Bruce Lee's life was abruptly ended under mysterious circumstances.
