Modern day guitars are typically six string instruments, comprising of a neck with steel frets that connects to the body.
There are many different versions of modern guitars, the most popular being the acoustic and the electric.
The acoustic guitar has a hollow or semi-hollow body attached to the neck where the sound projects from a hole after the strings are touched.
The electric guitar has a solid or semi-solid body and the vibrations of the strings are sensed by electrical "pick-ups", which takes the sound of the guitar and via an electrical signal, transmits it down a cable either to an amplifier, or directly to a sound mixing or recording board.
