Trance - A form of techno that evolved from early house music as a result of the increased capabilities of modern sythesizers. More complex tonal tibres allowed for the creation of hypnotic melodies and sounds. Characterized by a 4/4 time-signature and a tempo in the range of 120-125bpm, this music is most commonly associated with underground "rave" parties.
