John Mayer

John Mayer is a singer, songwriter and guitar player. Born on October 16, 1977, he grew up in Bridgeport, CT, and at the age of 13 he began playing the guitar.

He began performing in public at age 15. In high school he was part of a band called "Another Roadside Attraction" with Sam Morrissey and Alex Wiser. Another high school band that John was in is called "Villanova Junction". It comprised of Joe Beleznay, Tim Procaccini, Rich Wolf and John himself. After high school, John moved on to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He eventually dropped out and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 to pursue his career in music.

Mayer started out playing open mics at Eddies Attic and other local clubs. Before he went for a solo career John was briefly in a duo called "Lo-Fi Masters" with Clay Cooke. His first album, "Inside Wants Out", was independently released in 1999.
