Roger McGuinn started out his musical walk in folk music, singing, performing and writing songs for well known folk artists including The Chad Mitchell Trio and The Limeliters.
In 1964, McGuinn joined with fellow folkies Gene Clark and David Crosby to form The Jet Set. It was only after a viewing of the film "A Hard Day's Night" by the Beatles, did McGuinn catch the vision of a new sound, folk music combined with a rock 'n' roll beat. Thus was the begining of the Byrds.
