One Man. One Masterpiece. One Very Big Mistake.
Rowan Atkinson's famous television character, Mr. Bean, returns for the big screen. He has a job as the caretaker of Britain's Royal National Gallery. His bosses despise him and his eccentrically idiotic appearance, and are unable to fire him because he has the support of the chairman of the gallery's management board, an old man who knows little of Mr. Bean's lack of basic human capabilities.
His bosses have a cunning and deceiving plan to get rid of this mad man. They send on a field trip to the United States. He is renamed 'Dr. Bean' and sent to open America's greatest painting in a small art gallery in Los Angeles. A simple task for most, but Dr. Bean soon turns it into a disaster.
Follow the adventures of the quiet, clumsy and troublesome Dr. Bean as his insanity surprises authorities, shocks traditional America, and annoys one man above all others. That one man, a museum staff member who Dr. Bean stays with, looses his family and public respect while looking after the man he thinks is a doctor.
