This series of stories concerns a long lost colony from Earth where genetics has developed species of Dragons as well as other related creatures and enhanced Earth species such as dolphins. This story theme is not evident on first encountering the novels but emerges in later publications clearly moving the novels from the fantasy to science fiction domains.
