    His Death

    In December 1983 Asimov had a triple-bypass operation. Due to a blood transfusion of tainted blood, he contracted HIV.

    He died due to heart and kidney failure, which were complications of the AIDS disease. The fact that AIDS has been the cause of his death has been made public in March 2002.

    His body was cremated. His ashes were not interred.
