Prehistoric and Ancient Art

The first forms of painting were done by cave men 30,000 years ago, during the Old Stone, Age, but were never discovered until late the late 19th century by a Spanish child. Since then people have seached for more prehistoric artwork and at the same time discovered more about prehistoric history.

The art of the Stone Age hunters was very different. They created rock paintings with a basis on the idea that Earth Mother, and if one was to compare the difference between the tools they had avaliable to them then and our variety of tools now, we discover they must have been very skilled artists.

Ancient Egypt also created large artworks, and these were in honour of pharoahs and as sacrifices to gods. This was all based on religion and commitment to their leader after death.
