Eliza Thornberry is a teenage girl with a passion for animals. She is given an ability to speak to animals, with the exception that nobody is allowed to discover the power. That is when the adventures begin.
Nigel Thornberry is the successful presenter of a nature documentary series and he travels the world in search for rare animals and isolated reserves. His family travels with him, including daughters Eliza and Debbie, a wild orphan named Donnie and Nigel’s dedicated wife Marianne.
Eliza encounters a monkey and makes friends with him, names him Darwin and lets him join the family on wild adventures, during which she stands for the rights of poor helpless animals against predators, poachers, natural disasters and inhumane treatment.
